Great take on SXSW given the enterprise perspective. While the entire week could be dismissed as frivolous and irrelevant to enterprise, that'd come from a lack of foresight. In 20/20 hindsight, Twitter exploded after SXSW; now SAP and Salesforce have created integration paths. Who's to say Apture, Contxt, or Foursquare won't surpass that in a few years?

Regarding people - when I meet someone in person from the W2.0 world, it's like meeting an old friend. I'm not sure this happens in the E2.0 world, from what I've experienced so far. Events like these help reinforce relationships and in the end, it's all "real life."

Boston's culture runs a bit differently than Austin but I think it's worth a shot to rally the E2.0 community. For one straightforward idea, consider the #allhat tweetup at Guero's; Barking Crab would be the Boston equivalent.
