Susan, I'm looking forward to hearing more about what you and the council are discovering. I'll be attending the E2.0 conference in San Francisco and I'll be sure to sit in on your sessions at every opportunity. With regard to this post, I'm curious about the point you made that lines of business rather than IT tend to be driving Enterprise 2.0 efforts. I recognize that fact from my experiences too -- organizations either have IT departments that are more order-takers than strategic visionaries, or they have IT teams that are capable of strategic participation but are not invited into those conversations by management. I'm curious if the council's research has uncovered any data about rates of 2.0 Adoption success and whether/how it correlates to IT strategic involvement? That is, is IT strategic involvement a nice-to-have or a critical element of 2.0 adoption efforts? Keep up the great work.

Great to be working with you Susan, this looks to be a great project, and fantastic ramp-up for the council. Seems to be a watershed year for Enterprise 2.0.

For 2.0 Adoption Council members - I'm connected to many of you via twitter (@dankeldsen), Facebook, LinkedIn, or as a reader/consumer/commenter of our respective blogs - but feel free to get in touch any way you like. I'm not as radically transparent as some, but more than most.

Greater diversity in the network = stronger outcomes, but only after the initial connection is formed.

And we'll see everyone in November at the E2.0 Conference!

Cheers,
Dan
